Jatinangor, June 30, 2026 — The Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran, in collaboration with PT Advansia Indotani, organized a two-day Internship Preparation Program on June 29–30, 2026, at the Dean’s Office Building of the Faculty of Agriculture. The program was attended by 20 undergraduate students from the 2022 and 2023 cohorts of the Agrotechnology and Agribusiness study programs as preparation for their upcoming internship placements across several regions in West Java.

The program aimed to equip participants with the knowledge, practical skills, and professional insights needed before entering the field. During the event, PT Advansia Indotani invited several representatives to deliver the training sessions, including Suhendi from the company's management team, Eldy Sofyan as Human Resources Manager, Dwi Dinar Murjani as Senior Product Manager (Rice and Secondary Crops), along with several other speakers. Throughout the two-day program, students received introductory sessions about the company, workplace readiness, as well as technical training on the fundamentals of plant pests and diseases (Plant Pests and Diseases/PPD) and pesticide application, providing essential knowledge for their field assignments.

The internship program is scheduled to run for three months, from July 6 to early October 2026. Participants will be assigned to several locations across West Java, including Garut, Cirebon, Indramayu, Subang, and Karawang. These placements are based on PT Advansia Indotani's experimental fields and partner farmers' land, while also considering the different crop commodities cultivated in each region.

One of the internship participants, Alfredo, an Agrotechnology student from the 2022 cohort, explained that the internship primarily focuses on supporting field agronomist activities. According to him, each placement location offers different crop characteristics, allowing students to gain hands-on experience with diverse cultivation practices while evaluating the effectiveness of the company's agricultural products.

"The internship locations are spread across Garut, Cirebon, Indramayu, Subang, and Karawang because we will be assigned to both Advansia's experimental fields and partner farmers' land. Each region also grows different commodities, allowing us to evaluate product efficacy under various crop and environmental conditions," he said.

Throughout the internship, students will participate in a wide range of field activities, including pesticide efficacy trials, crop growth observations, farmer extension services, and demonstration plot management. The trials will involve several commodities, including rice, watermelon, chili pepper, melon, and onion. During the program, students will be supervised by PT Advansia Indotani's Commercial Executives and Field Assistants to ensure an effective learning experience.

Meanwhile, Akmal, an Agrotechnology student from the 2023 cohort, highlighted that the internship offers valuable opportunities for students to gain first-hand experience in the agricultural industry. "The internship mainly focuses on agricultural fieldwork, where we will serve as Field Assistants responsible for collecting data from PT Advansia Indotani's product efficacy trials. Most of our activities will take place directly in agricultural fields," he explained.

Akmal expressed his hope that the internship would provide meaningful learning experiences and help participants better understand the professional work environment. Likewise, Alfredo hopes the collaboration between the Faculty of Agriculture Unpad and PT Advansia Indotani will continue in the coming years. He believes the program serves as an excellent platform for students to broaden their practical experience in sustainable agriculture while bridging academic knowledge with industry needs. Although the internship has not yet begun, he shared his enthusiasm for the opportunity to learn directly through field practice.

Through this collaboration, the Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Padjadjaran and PT Advansia Indotani seek to bridge academic learning with industry needs by providing students with practical, industry-based learning experiences. The program also contributes to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), through experiential learning and strengthened collaboration between higher education institutions and the agricultural industry.
