Empowering the Community's Economy Through Strengthening the Triple Helix Collaboration Between Faperta Unpad, Indomaret, and Farmers

The Faculty of Agriculture at Padjadjaran University (Unpad) has officially signed three memorandums of understanding for a cooperation agreement with PT Indomarco Prismatama (Indomaret) and farmer groups. This partnership is for the implementation of a community economic development and empowerment program. The signing took place at the Faculty of Agriculture Building, Unpad Jatinangor Campus. This collaboration is a form of triple helix among academics, industry, and the community to advance the agricultural sector.

The Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at Padjadjaran University, Dr. Meddy Rachmadi, stated in his speech, "The Faculty of Agriculture, as a hub of reliable academics, is ready to collaborate with various parties, including industry and the community." Today marks a great start for the synergy between the Faculty of Agriculture, PT Indomarco Prismatama, the Sapingi Cirebon Farmer Group, and the Sawit Arjasari Farmer Group. This collaboration is a platform for us to actualize our commitment to community service.

He explained, "The great opportunity presented by the modern lifestyle, where people enjoy consuming fruits like papaya and melon, must be seized with activities to develop local fruits within our partner farmer groups. We welcome this collaborative step because of our commitment to be an active partner in sustainable and innovation-based agricultural development for the benefit of the community."

The representative from Indomaret, Microeconomics Executive Director of PT Indomarco Prismatama, Mr. Feki Oktavianus, expressed his appreciation to the Faculty of Agriculture at Padjadjaran University for making this collaboration happen. "Thank you to Faperta Unpad for being a collaborative partner for community empowerment. With the full support from Faperta Unpad, we hope our partner farmers can increase their profits, thereby improving their well-being. Indomaret is committed to providing support in the form of marketing the fruit products cultivated by partner farmers in their retail network. Success to all of us," he said.

The signing ceremony was attended by the academic community of the Faculty of Agriculture at Unpad, delegates from Indomaret, the Cirebon Regency Agriculture Office, and representatives from the partner farmer groups, such as Poktan Sapingi Cirebon and Poktan Sawit Arjasari.
