Guest Lecture by Prof. Kouhei Murata of Tokai University, Japan, titled "Introduction of Soil Animals." Prof. Murata is an entomologist and a lecturer at the School of Agriculture, Tokai University Kyusuhu (TUK). He served as the supervisor for the Scholar Exchange Program for Dr. Mieke Rochimi Setiawati in 2022 and for Febby Fitriyani, a postgraduate student in Soil Science at the Faculty of Agriculture, UNPAD, in 2023. This program lasted for one month at TUK, based on a MoA between the UNPAD Faculty of Agriculture and TUK, and was underpinned by an MoU between TUK and UNPAD. In 2024, Prof. Murata became the co-promotor for Febby Fitriyani, a doctoral student in Agricultural Sciences, alongside her promotor Prof. Reginawanti Hindersah. Prof. Kouhei’s guest lecture for postgraduate and doctoral students lasted for 2 hours, with Dr. Yusup Hidayat as the moderator. The topic of Soil Animals has not been widely researched, despite their crucial role in the soil's nutrient cycle for providing plant nutrition. The presence of soil fauna serves as an indicator of soil fertility, encompassing its physical, biological, and chemical properties.

Prof. Murata also visited the Strawberry greenhouse at Bale Tatanen, Faperta UNPAD. The visit included an explanation from Mr. Kenji Endo, CEO of Japan Premium Vegetables, a company that collaborates with Faperta.
