Three representatives from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran (Faperta Unpad), participated in the 70th Annual Conference of the Australasian Agricultural and Resource Economics Society (AARES 2026) held in Adelaide, South Australia, from 9–13 February 2026. This international conference is a prestigious academic forum in the field of agricultural and resource economics, bringing together scholars, researchers, and practitioners from various countries. The participation of Faperta Unpad delegates reflects the faculty’s commitment to strengthening its global academic engagement. The event also provided an important platform for exchanging ideas and fostering international research collaboration.
During the conference, the delegates contributed through oral presentations and the Three Minutes Thesis (3MT) competition, presenting research topics related to agricultural development, gender issues, and natural resource management. Their participation demonstrated the faculty’s capacity to address global challenges through context-based and policy-relevant research. In addition to presenting their findings, the delegates engaged in panel discussions and thematic sessions addressing contemporary issues in agricultural economics and sustainable resource management. These activities enriched academic perspectives while reinforcing Unpad’s presence in international research networks.
Adapun perwakilan Fakultas Pertanian Unpad yang berpartisipasi meliputi Sara Ratna Qanti, S.P., M.Sc., Ph.D. dengan topik “Expectation and Realities of Women’s Participation in Household Decision-Making among Farming Families in West Java, Indonesia”; Dr. Nur Syamsiyah, S.P., M.P. dengan topik “Risk Mitigation for Potato Production in Environmental Conservation in the Cisangkuy Sub-Watershed, Bandung Regency, West Java, Indonesia”; serta Maura Zhafira Putri, S.Tr.Agr., M.Agr. dengan topik “Women’s Participation in Agricultural Land-Use Decision-Making in the Citarum Watershed, West Java, Indonesia”. Ketiga topik tersebut menyoroti keterkaitan antara pembangunan pertanian, aspek gender, serta pengelolaan lingkungan yang berkelanjutan. Presentasi ini mendapat respons positif dari peserta konferensi dan membuka peluang diskusi serta kolaborasi lanjutan. Kehadiran delegasi Faperta Unpad juga memperkenalkan konteks pertanian Indonesia dalam forum ilmiah global.
Participation in AARES 2026 underscores the Faculty of Agriculture Universitas Padjadjaran’s dedication to advancing impactful and internationally competitive research. Through active engagement in global academic forums, the faculty continues to enhance the visibility of its research contributions while supporting evidence-based agricultural policy and sustainable development initiatives. This involvement also strengthens international partnerships in agricultural economics, rural development, and natural resource management. Moving forward, sustained participation in international conferences is expected to further expand collaborative research opportunities and generate meaningful contributions to society and the environment.
This activity is related to several SDGs, such as SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth, SDG 13: Climate Action, and SDG 15: Life on Land. Thus, the contributions of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unpadweb, can support the achievement of sustainable development goals in Indonesia.
