The Master of Agronomy Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran, successfully hosted a series of Lecture Series from November to December 2024. The program highlighted current issues in agroecology and the impacts of microplastics on the environment, featuring Dr. Babar Iqbal, an Associate Professor at The School of Environment and Safety Engineering, Jiangsu University, China, as speaker.

First Session: Agroecology and Invasive Ecology

The first session was held on November 20, 2024, via Zoom Meeting. The topic, “Agroecology and Invasive Ecology,” was thoroughly discussed by Dr. Babar Iqbal and attended by 26 participants. The discussion focused on challenges and strategies for sustainable agroecosystem management in dealing with invasive ecology.

Second Session: Ecological Hazards of Microplastics and Invasive Plants

The second session took place on November 26, 2024, with the theme “Microplastics Meet Invasive Plants: Unravelling The Ecological Hazards to Agroecosystem.” A total of 19 participants joined to explore the interactions between microplastics and invasive plants and their impact on agroecosystems.

Third Session: Microplastics’ Effects on Human Health

On December 5, 2024, the third session, titled “Microplastics Effects on Human Health,” was conducted from 13.00 to 15.00 WIB, with 26 participants in attendance. Dr. Babar Iqbal elaborated on the effects of microplastics on human health, marking the conclusion of this insightful series.

This Lecture Series successfully enhanced participants’ understanding of contemporary environmental issues while inspiring active contributions to addressing agroecosystem challenges in the future.
