Jatinangor, 15 April 2026 \u2014 The Faculty of Agriculture at Universitas Padjadjaran successfully hosted an International Webinar under the Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program on 15 April 2026. Conducted in a hybrid format at Bale Rucita, Jatinangor Campus, the event marked the first of a four-part lecture series. The session featured Prof. Amrik Sohal from the Department of Management, Monash Business School, Monash University, Australia. The lecture focused on the theme \u201cSustainable Agricultural Supply Chains: Linking Producer to Consumer in Developing Countries.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The webinar was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, Dr. Ahmad Choibar Tridakusumah, who emphasized the importance of global academic collaboration in addressing contemporary agricultural challenges. The session was moderated by Prof. Yosini Deliana from the Department of Agricultural Social Economics. The keynote lecture provided a comprehensive overview of how traditional agricultural supply chains in developing countries are evolving. Particular emphasis was placed on institutional strengthening, farmer empowerment, and the integration of technological innovations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants were given valuable insights into how supply chain systems can be optimized to enhance efficiency, inclusivity, and sustainability. The lecture highlighted the intersection between agriculture, logistics, marketing, and development studies. Through interactive discussion, attendees explored practical strategies for linking producers more effectively with consumers. These perspectives are particularly relevant for strengthening agri-food systems in emerging economies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The COIL program aims to connect students and lecturers across countries through collaborative online learning, fostering both academic enrichment and intercultural competence. This initiative supports the development of globally minded graduates who are equipped to navigate complex, real-world challenges. The program is funded by the Indonesian Endowment Fund for Education (LPDP) under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology through the EQUITY Program 2025. The session was attended by 108 offline and 191 online participants from undergraduate, master\u2019s, and doctoral programs, including representatives from Kazakh National University named after Al-Farabi and other partner institutions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The organizing team consisted of Prof. Yosini Deliana, Prof. Emma Rochima, Arjon Turnip, Ph.D., and Dr. Agriani Hermita Sadeli, supported by the 2025 Unpad Match Making Research Interest (MMRI) grant. The activity aligns strongly with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education) and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), by promoting inclusive, collaborative, and internationally connected learning environments. Furthermore, this initiative enhances the global engagement and academic reputation of the Faculty of Agriculture. It reinforces the faculty\u2019s commitment to advancing sustainable agriculture through international collaboration and knowledge exchange.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
