Seven students from the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Padjadjaran (Faperta Unpad), have been awarded the JASSO (Japan Student Services Organization) scholarship to participate in a student exchange program at Yamagata University, Japan, from September 2024 to August 2025. This program is part of the faculty\u2019s commitment to strengthening academic internationalization and enhancing students\u2019 academic and research capacities at the global level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participants consist of six undergraduate students from the Agrotechnology program and one master\u2019s student from Soil Science: Irham Gunawan, Fariz Ardiansyah Gunawan, Nadia Adriana, Rohimatus Syamsyiah, Shahla Aurelia Arief, Reyki Setiawan, and Arnetta Fasya. Through this program, students gain direct exposure to the Japanese academic environment, engage with international lecturers and researchers, and expand their global networks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The JASSO program at Yamagata University is conducted under the theme \u201cThe Education and Research Leader Upbringing Program to Environment Preservation through Agri-Food Linkage,\u201d offering hands-on research experiences in both laboratory and field settings. Students are involved in various innovative research activities, including organic waste management using Black Soldier Fly (BSF), sustainable agriculture development, and the exploration of organism functions within agricultural ecosystems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to academic activities, students participate in a wide range of complementary experiences, including seminars, industry collaborations, community engagement, and entrepreneurship practices related to agricultural products. These experiences not only strengthen their technical and research competencies but also enhance adaptability, leadership skills, and cross-cultural understanding.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The participation of Faperta Unpad students in this program reflects the expanding opportunities for international student mobility and reinforces the faculty\u2019s commitment to producing globally competitive graduates. Through this experience, students are expected to bring back global perspectives and contribute to the advancement of sustainable agriculture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond academic achievements, the students also play an important role as cultural ambassadors of Indonesia. During their stay in Japan, they actively promote Indonesian culture through daily interactions, campus activities, and international forums. This highlights that international mobility programs not only enhance academic capacity but also serve as a platform for cultural diplomacy, strengthening mutual understanding between nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
